"Our assignment is not only to make visits but to consistently carry the Spirit into homes, to bless families with the pure love of Christ, to inspire, encourage, lift, and fortify. Every home is in need of additional support. Visiting teachers bring that blessed reinforcement. It is a sacred trust we have been given. We can overcome the obstacles." -Bonnie D. Parkin, RS General President, 2002-2007.

Doing Good

Jenny Burt gave a great lesson today from our Lorenzo Snow book titled Doing Good to Others.
We talked about following promptings from the Spirit as soon as we receive them. Don't hesitate to help others. It was mentioned that when you listen closely to the Spirit and follow the promptings that you will get more and more opportunities to receive those promptings. Jenny also taught that when you serve others, you may find yourself being served in return.

This is just a short summary of a wonderful lesson. I would recommend everyone read it, then work this week on focusing on the promptings of the Spirit. Try to act on those prompting as soon as you receive them. When we do this, we are doing the Lord's work. We will be blessed as well as the person we are serving.

  1. Thanks for this! I appreciate a short synopsis of Relief Society as I'm sitting here getting ready for next Sunday in Primary. :)
